Description

Blank hydrographic film is a special water transfer printing film. It uses water pressure to hydrolyze PVA plastic film with color patterns. It can DIY make your own patterns with printable water transfer film. Moreover, you can print directly the printable hydro dip film with inkjet printer.

The working principle of printable hydrographic film is as follow: after printing blank water transfer printing film, it seems to have only one layer. In fact, there are two layers, one is a soluble film, and the other is an ink layer. During the water transfer process, put the printed blank hydro dip film into the transfer water tank. The soluble film will dissolve, but the ink is still in a solid state. Only after spraying the activator A, the solid ink will become alive. In this way, the pattern can be transferred to the object. Blank hydro dip film is different from waterslide decal paper.

The ctivator to use: blank printable water transfer film needs both activator A and activator B. It uses active agent A and pigment ink together for printing. At the same time, it needs active agent B to liquefy the printed hydrographic film.

How to apply inkjet blank hydro dip film?

Firstly: Apply base primer on the physical object and dry the surface. Mix the Base primer(WTD4322) with thinner(WTS430) by the ratio 1:2. Apply the mixed base primer evenly on the surface of the physical object, then baking to dry or let it dry itself.

Secondly: Print your picture or pattern on blank printable hydrographic water transfer film by your inkjet printer with pigment ink (JAEP, 6 colors). Use ” mirror printing” and ” highest quality”.

Thirdly: Wait until the ink is totally dry,or use hair dryer to dry it and apply our activator A to protect the ink,then wait till it totally dry, or use hair dryer to dry it.

Step 4: Tape the borders of the inkjet hydrographic film before putting onto the water, otherwise the blank hydrographic film would expand in the water and peel off the base paper from the printed water transfer film.

Step 5: Place the printable water transfer film on the water and fix it, if there are bubbles under the film, just blow it away without damage the film. (Water temperature should be 25C-30C)
Notice: the printed side should be upon the water, and the other side should face to water.

Step 6: Waitting about 60 seconds (If the water temperature lower, just extend this time), spray the activator B evenly to liquefy the blank hydrographic film and wait about 10-15 seconds till the printable water transfer film is completely liquefied.  At this time you can see the printable hydro dip film is liquefy looks like water smooth surface.

Step 7: Dipping slowly the physical object (base primer on object have been dried) into the printable water transfer film with an angle of 35-45 degrees and avoid air bubbles. This time the blank hydrographic film can attach on the object.

Step 8: After dipping, washing the physical object, or put it into water to stay for 20 minutes to remove the glue on the surface.

Step 9: Dry the physical object by air gun, and baking with 50 degree centigrade for 10 mins. It can be also let it self-dry, this time just for remove the water.

Step 10: Mix the top primer (WTM) with hardener(WTG) and thinner(WTS) by the ratio 2:1:1, and apply the mixed top primer evenly on the physical object, then baking to dry or let it dry itself.”

Kind note: room temperature :20-25℃,Humidity 45-65%. Do not press and fold the printable water transfer film. It needs to seal the blank printable hydro dip film with plastic wrap. After being sealed, you also need place it in a cool place to prevent moisture, dryness, and squeeze. Buy the blank hydrographic film for DIY decoration application.

If the storage place is too humid, it will cause the blank water transfer printing film to wrinkle. If the storage place is too dry, it will cause the printable hydrographic film to roll. Especially in northern areas, because the climate is too dry and there is heating in the house, improper storage can easily cause the printable hydro dip film to roll. If this happens, it is recommended that you use a humidifier to blow a little, so that the rolled blank hydrographic film can be flattened.
