Unpowered roller is one of the common accessories of conveyor. We mainly use it on a roller conveyor to achieve the purpose of manually conveying goods. At the same time, it can also act as a roller in a belt conveyor to support the weight of the conveyor belt and materials. The structure of the conveyor roller
1. Roller body: it’s generally made of round tube. Commonly materials are steel pipes, plastic pipes, high-precision and high-strength round steel;
2. Inner shaft: usually produced by round steel. Cold-drawn round steel for small diameter, and large diameter roller can be machined;
3. End cover: main material is carbon steel.
Introduction of roller surface treatment
1.Galvanizing
Galvanizing is suitable for light industry, instrumentation, electromechanical, agricultural machinery, national defense and other industrial equipment and facilities. It is currently the most common roller surface treatment method and belongs to the real environmentally friendly galvanizing. Compared with traditional zinc oxide plating, it has the following characteristics:
⑴ It does not use highly toxic chlorides, and the wastewater is easy to treat.
⑵The coating has fine crystals, good luster, and its dispersing ability and deep crossing ability are close to chlorinated liquid. Suitable for electroplating of parts with complex shapes.

2.Decorative chrome plating
Decorative chromium is mainly used for the implementation of equipment such as automobiles, bicycles, daily hardware products, household appliances, instrument switches, and mechanical parts. Decorative chromium adopts nickel and nickel chromium technology to ensure product quality. The surface is silvery white. Decorative chromium has the characteristics of strong corrosion resistance and good appearance and decorative effect. It has a high reflectance coefficient.
3.Rubber coated roller
The rubber-coated roller is a rubber product made by vulcanizing a rubber layer on a metal steel pipe. Compared with ordinary rollers, rubber-coated rollers have the characteristics of elasticity, wear resistance, acid and alkali resistance, oil resistance (nitrile rubber), temperature resistance, and no rust. Common materials are natural rubber and nitrile rubber. Black, green and light gray are recommended colors.
4.Hard chrome plating
Hard chromium is also namely wear-resistant chromium. This treatment can increase the hardness of the drum surface, improve wear resistance, temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. We often use it in the treatment of mechanical molds, plastic abrasives, corrosion-resistant valves, printing, and textile paper drums. The surface is silvery white.
